oh canada!

forgot last time to explain about my sewing class. my domestic diva apron making class. i, of all people, picked the pattern with deer heads! but i was just in it for the color, plus the deer heads are hard to see.

vancouver called us up! we headed up friday and uh! did we have some great sushi that night. my roll,"dynamite"=awesome. ....but don't worry, the concierge from the sheraton did not reccomend this place. little c had a tent of sorts to cover her crib from the other beds. she cried the first night, but the second night she just talked and talked! "up up up, down down down" that is her line right now. but saturday morning, we had a little vomit issue. little c just had an eventful morning. she just needed some carbs but from the vom to stanley park we went!
http://vancouver.ca/PARKS/parks/stanley/ beautiful park; flowers and even a little train ride! after shopping and banana, strawberry, nutella crepes (delicious!!) a and i went back to the hotel and they all went to swim while i took a nap since little c had just woken up! dinner by the steam clock, what a sight! again, we had crepes for dessert. i am not ashamed about the number of crepes i ate, not at all.....okay maybe my waistline is upset about the number.

sunday morning:flea market and big market with fresh fruit and veggies...all sorts. again, a crepe with ham, egg and chesse. favorite! we a took a little "aqua boat" over to the market. next we went to "go fish" an awesome fish place. good stuff. and although i don't like fish, it was okay! yes, i still don't think cod is my deal. there is just something about the odor of fish in my mouth.

bachelorette. thank goodness she picked ed! woot!
sad note: i leave redmond on thursday.....don't remind me.
did i mention that it is HOT in washington? like 98 degrees and no AC!
Thessalonians 3:3....i'm not abiding by this very well. i've been doubting my Lord, thinking of ways evil will come upon me. He isn't the guy to doubt...

nehemiah.

last weekend we went kayaking, made toffee, saw the death cab for cutie concert, pikes market. you better believe it!

http://patentandthepantry.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/english-toffee/ use this toffee recipe, it is spectacular. it seperated only because we kept it on too long. but it turned out to be DELICIOUS! smoked salmon, grilled veggies and chocolate cake with caramel icing....way to go ac and t!! this weekends meals were delightful with some extra company from the midwest. more salmon (smoked salmon) raviolli when we went out....the food just got better! homeade brunches with eggs, fruit, gravy, biscuits and all the toppings add up to my extra 5 lbs. whoops!
mexican casserole....just finished the remnants from mondays dinner, today! a must make....roasted chicken, onions, pepper, tortillas, cheese....all that good stuff. tuesday night, navy bean soup! yummy stuff. little c and i made mac anc cheese tonight....even better!

little c and i got two nights together this week; i've decided there is nothing sweeter in this world than seeing that sweet baby girl fall asleep in my arms! it makes the world stop and nothing else seems to matter. Sunday church was super good. Nehemiah, whom i have never studied in all my Catholic school teaching, was explored and we studied each of these gates from a new point of view, which was phenomenal!

finished "true believer" by nicholas sparks. cheesy love story, just the way i like 'em! started "american wife" yesterday, good so far!
thank God for your blessings and for your moments of peace AND chaos. they could all be gone one day...

imagine tom hanks in "you've got mail"

hanks sends meg ryan an email (shocking) saying "MONDAY, TUESDAY, THURSDAY" in an accent...he leaves out Wednesday but no worries, i will cover today as well.

i think little c should get a shirt that says, "making people laugh since '07" every day she cracks me up with her word choice, or the tilt of her head or even when she slaps herself on the head when she knows she has done something wrong. how can you not laugh at that? i'm probably a bad influence in the fact that i sip my milk from my cereal when it's all thats left. or that i eat just a little bit of the oatmeal cookie batter....she saw that one and tried it too. dang.

so what have we done this week...monday i went to kirkland and looked around the consignment stores, antiques and boutiques. no luck yet. just found little c some window stickers for christmas. monday...pullled pork. yummy!

http://soupbelly.com/2009/06/17/barbecued-pulled-pork/ here's a good recipe for it.

tuesday we went to macys, had pulled pork for lunch (it made sooo much! we even had leftovers for todays lunch!)

i had to watch the bachelorette during little c's nap time! jillians got a difficult decision to make...but personally, i think she should choose ed. and call him ritchie. ohhh cutie! kipton is cute too, don't get me wrong, but ed's just got something more to him.

SEWING CLASS. fortunately a taught me a good amount of information tuesday morning so i was pretty prepared! i was one of 2 people who spoke english...it was sooo awesome! the teacher of the class must have been going through a midlife crisis...she kept talking about "everyone makes mistakes, life is all a bundle of mistakes..." thanks for the lesson, doc.

well, quiche was dinner tuesday. cheese, eggs, pie crust, spinach, bacon.....pretty simple.
http://www.tastespotting.com/search/quiche/1 here's a good site with endless quiche recipesss!!!!

blt's tonight. we're thinking about making some toffee, anyone have good recipes? it's got a TON of butter. all the oatmeal raisin cookies are gone...sad day. ann butle apron class tomorrow....wonder who will be in there?!

flea market

well t was gone to san fran but A and little C amd I had plenty to do! Library story time, enchiladas, the beach, sand castles, cold seattle water! Too bad aunt chan wore a one piece and hadn't worked out in weeks when we ventured out to the beach. there were beautiful people playing volleyball, swimming and guys flirting with size 0 girls wearing wait, wearing nothing but skin and bones. gag me.

i made enchiladas from tastespotting. go here and make it tonight.
http://jessicasfoodspot.blogspot.com/2009/07/enchiladas.html

saturday was fun. sewing classes at joanns this coming week so we got some interfacing and i've got to choose on my fabric for my pillows. books at the half price book store.....wooootttt!!!! more jodi piccoult books and some "real simple" magazines. what else would someone get at a half price book store? next on my wishlist. some serious subscriptions to real simple and time. maybe southern living, but for now, just those two.

any other good magazines i should subscribe to?

SUNDAY! FLEA MARKET GALOUR! two chandeliers and a seriously cute fan for $5. it's a vintage one, gotta get papajoe to fix some parts of it. nordstroms rack, gap, urban outfitters and anthropologie. ate tbe crabcake advocado sancwich. sooo good. go here to see where we ate in freemont. they composted all our uneaten food.
http://www.eathomegrown.com/

white chili for dinner tonight! a package of chicken broth, rotel, can of great northern beans, cumin, http://www.elise.com/recipes/archives/001658white_chili.php
try this recipe. we didn't use onions and it was just perfect. no cloves, no oegano or green chiles. so basically, almost half of the above recipe is wrong. but, it's a good SOO EASY recipe. with some serious zing! next we made some oatmeal rasin cookies and some chocolate pudding. YUMMMY. little c and i tried to roll the oatmeal cookies together, but she didn't like being so dirty with the oatmeal raisin cookie mix. so, aunt chan made some. good stuff, maynard.

g sale

i slept in! until about ehhhh 9:30 but 11:30 my time. c came knocking at my door asking "turn chann niiinnnggg" oh, she's a keeper.

next we went to a play date. more maclaren strollers than i've ever seen. good, very good food! hummus, mini pizzas, freah fruit (as always on the west coast). pineapples, strawberries, canteloupe, blueberries.

on the way home from the play date we saw a "g sale" sign. but little c started to fall asleep in the car so we couldn't stop for the sale. so, i ventured out and went exploring. did i find furniture, nope nope. a pair of 29 seven jeans...but wasn't in the mood for trying on someone elses $170 jeans. marshalls and rei...new northface and some mexican food. yesssss taquitos!!!!!!!!

so you think you can dance? how do they dance in those heels anyways?

bath time

aquarium.sewing lessons.used book store. new northface pullover. PINK. c's morning yoga *on demand* fannnccyyy. and that was all in the last 10 hours. aren't you so jealous?

sleeping in is such a delicacy. for the fact of the two hour time difference, i can't figure out my sleeing patterns.

so we found a couple houses in destin for my stepmoms 50th birthday. let's see...there will be: three kids: jane doe baby, r, & c. m, her man maybe and me. a, t, e and k. and the rents. about 12 :) that is perfect.

i've always been indecisive. why are we the way we are? is it because in the grocery line our moms let us have a candy bar but we couldn't decide between a milky way and reeses? my mom never made me actually choose, if i remember. so if maybe i was given a deadline like "1, 2....okay no more" i would now be able to decide between fudge cheesecake ice cream and strawberry. yep, sweets are my weakness.

dilemma: our room has a black couch, gross.black.couch. where could i get a shabby chic slip cover? target has that new line. that'll be a good start.

also, anyone know of a good place to find a used camera for $100 or so???

2 corinthians 12:9-10

"My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness. I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me."
2nd corinthians 12:9-10

This, I feel, is the best way to start this off since I know how often I am imperfect and yet still accepted by Christ. We each should search for that grace in our day.

Sunday I started my 24 days with my niece, stepsister and her husband. First adventure outside A,C and I went to target and Fred Meyers. Boy, did someone have tantrum breakdown at Meyers. After all my sitting for families back home this time, however, something was different. For once you could feel everyone empathising with you. The mom with the baby in the wrap...she knows her little one will have this same incident. Then, the guy putting away coke cans, just laughing. He's probably been through a few of these with his youngens. But, by far, the best was the baker who asked if a cookie would help.

Baker lady, you are the grace of my day! What was her story? Did she not have kids because right before she gave up her husband left her for some 27-year-old?

Just things I conjur up in my mind.....
